Land on a secluded island and enjoy beautiful views, untouched beaches and native forest. Keep a look out for marine life during your cruise, from juvenile hammerhead sharks to little blue penguins.

For the true nature lover, extend your day by stepping ashore at beautiful Urupukapuka Island. Take your time exploring its many walking trails before meeting our return boat in the afternoon (available on 8:00am cruise only).

This cruise operates NZ summer months only.

Free walking option on Urupukapuka Island available on 8:00am departure. Walking map is provided for self-guided walking.

Island Adventure is a purpose built smaller vessel, 4WD of the sea. Capable of speeds of over 30 knots. It's designed to get you to your destination quickly and comfortably. Its shallow drought means it can navigate where other boats can't - like straight up onto the beach. What's more because the Island Adventurer only seats 34 people you'll be able to view the Bay's great sights every step of the way.

Departures: daily, summer months
8:00am, 11:00am & 2:00 pm, Russell 10 minutes later
Free walking option on Urupukapuka Island available on 8:00am departure, returns at 1:30pm or 4:30pm

Departure Points: Paihia - the wharf next to the Maritime Building waterfront
Russell - the wharf waterfront

Reporting time: 15 minutes prior to departure

Durations: approx. 2.5 hours

What to bring: Sunhat, sunscreen sunglasses, walking shoes, jacket and a camera. If you are planning to spend the day on Urupukapuka Island, make sure you pack enough food and water for the day.
